THINGS ARE MOVING WITH THE BOOK
I finally have a cover and I couldn't be more excited about it. Also, keep an eye out for an upcoming review from Maudlin House! The cover will be available for preview as part of the review. In the meantime, here's a little snippet of my notes to the reviewer:
As a teen I was obsessed with femininity and had idols from black and white films, cartoons, tv, etc that I considered paragons of what it meant to be a lady. It took a complete rebellion against my mother and coming to grips with myself as a sexual body (and coming to grips with sexual violence in my past) to realize that I hated myself as the woman I'd dreamed up. I realized that woman would never accept her lesbian tendencies, her general and normal grossness, other women, the reality of sex as an awkward strange thing and not some scene from a movie, and herself. That's essentially where this book is coming from. I grew up in rural Indiana also I had very few examples of radical femininity. This book aims to challenge the tidiness of all the femininity I saw growing up.
Look up this fab artist, Kara Sajeske! She's responsible for my cover ❤️
